Free Haneen And Mawada!

The Issue

Mawada Al Adham, 23 and Haneen Hossam, 19 have been sentenced to 6 and 10 years in jail in Egypt for monetizing their social media. They were both charged with violating family values and human trafficking!

After posting an ad about the monetization option applications offer influencers, Haneen was accused of enticing women to violate family values and sharing videos in exchange for money. Egyptian authorities equated an ad to human trafficking. Charges were overturned on appeal in January except for the human trafficking charges which handed Haneen a 10 year sentence in (maximum security) jail.

Haneen’s mother is a cancer patient and when Haneen got arrested, she lost her speech and her left side became paralyzed!

Mawada was sentenced to 6 years in prison and a fine of L.E. 200,000 over encouraging young women to broadcast indecent content on the platform to make money.

Mawada is the only care taker of her mother who has Alzheimer's . She doesn’t even remember Mawada whose health is deteriorating rapidly in prison.

They are two young girls who are not a danger to society nor wanted for any other crimes. Both girls are in a very bad shape and their health is deteriorating and they missed their college exams!

We ask the public prosecutor of Egypt to appeal the verdict and assign a social media expert to the case. Social media platform monetization is NOT human trafficking! Help restore justice for Mawada and Haneen.

We are in DESPERATE NEED of your support ! Please sign the petition and check below ways you can help two innocent girls:
