Pettition against importing low quality Cars ,Buses and Cuties to the country.
The Issue
Honorable president - Maithripala Sirisena
Honorable Prime Minister - Ranil Wickramasinghe
Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka , 02.06.2016
Objection to Importing Indian Vehicles (cutie and three Wheeler).
I’m writing this petition to let you know that, personally myself and majority of people in Sri Lanka is against to importing Indian vehicles on to the Sri Lankan Roads.
I would like to explain you few facts which I have recognized and that will be affected to the general public and transportation sector of Sri Lanka.
First of all, sorry to say that the quality of transportation already has been degraded due to the buses and three wheeler that has been imported from India. Here below we have explained few facts.
Buses
1. No proper and standard safety system at all.
2. Most of the buses imported by Tata or Ashok Leyland is not in an adequate quality.
3. People cannot travel on these buses comfortably due to its mis configured interiors.
4. Seats are too closer to each other and only two people can sit with lots of difficulties. No minimum hand or leg space has been reserved.
3. Noise is extremely high.
4. At least no any fan units has been fixed in normal buses.
5. Any Tata or Leyland Super luxury buses in opretation are not in adequate quality.
6. No proper and standard safety system at all.
Three-wheelers / New market introduced cutie
1. No proper and standard safety system at all.
2. Heavy traffic has created.
3. Not at least the minimum comfort.
So we kindly request you to stop bringing unusable product like trashes to our country which all other countries have been refused. Some of these issues could be fixed just by doing some corrections according to the criteria.
However, only those actions will not enough to create sustainable and luxurious transportation sector in Sri Lanka. I and all Sri Lankan people strongly believe that, just fixing one or two things will not make a big difference. But if we have proper investment plan in transportation sector, that will save millions of money and long term economy for the Sri Lanka. I and Sri Lankan Citizens like to see some cognitive decisions will be made by Sri Lankan government.
Not to mention that, Micro is producing superb buses and cars which will fulfill the requirement of long journeys. So why don’t the government encourage them to rise up and introduce their products to our market. The revenue which the government losing from tax can recover by exporting our products after workforce is released from three wheels. There are lots of things which we can invent to grow our economy.
It is possible to reduce cost of fuel to the country, If the government promoted and introduced vehicles like Leaf than promoting Alto. Then people will invest more money on the solar power energy technology to fulfill energy requirements for the country. Starting from now if we could transfer all fuel cars in to electric cars, In future we could make a green country where people can enjoy their lives with the nature.
Therefore, we kindly request you to rethink about this problem. We need quality vehicles and not the trashes where the all passenger’s lives will be in a risk.
Thanks,
Dulip Ravindra / Ashan Dissanayake and all Sri Lankan Citizens signed below.
