It is very unfortunate to report that the new tribute to liberty wall for communist victims, that has now received around eight million tax payer dollars to create, has received a tribute in memory of Ustase leader Ante Pavelic's family. Ante Pavelic orchestrated the Serbian Genocide of WWII which took the lives of over 800 000 people- Serbs, Jews and Roma.

There is also a tribute for Mile Budak, who was a high ranking Ustase member who called for the "extermination of one third of Serbs, the forcible conversion of one third of Serbs and to expel one third of Serbs."

When I called Ludwik Klimkowski, who is heading this project, to convey this information to him, he stated that "we have to be careful because some might see him  (Pavelic) as a victim."

This is absolutely unacceptable. It is unacceptable to misuse this tribute wall to glorify fascist war criminals- the Hitler of the Balkans and Budak who are unequivocally not victims but some of the most evil people who have ever lived. It is even more unacceptable that Klimkowski defended the tribute.

This is why both the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Canadian Heritage were added as change makers to this petition over this grave matter.
