Pirate fishing threatens to derail our efforts to restore the world’s oceans. Such illegal fishing accounts for between 20-32 percent of wild-caught seafood crossing our borders.

We can’t continue to look the other way and encourage further harm to our oceans.

President Obama’s Task Force on Combating Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing and Seafood Fraud recently released its proposed rule on traceability. The proposed rule is a step forward, but more needs to be done and soon.
