This month, I hugged my mom outside of prison walls for the first time since I was 3 years old. That’s more than 22 years -- almost my entire life and half of my mother’s life. It’s hard to put into words how much your support has meant to me, my mom, and our entire family. Growing up with a mother sentenced to life in prison wasn’t easy. Even though my mom was a first time nonviolent offender, many people agreed with these life sentences. It’s only been recently that the public has started finally realize what a mistake the War on Drugs has been. We have raised over $6,000 for my mom and I’ve heard that many people would still like to chip in, so I’ve raised the goal to $7,000 for those of you who didn’t have a chance to donate. http://chn.ge/2cU4eHO She’s going to need to buy clothes, and get a computer and phone for work -- so this fundraiser is really making a big difference http://chn.ge/2cU4eHO Thank you for being part of not only helping to free my mom, but for helping to change people’s minds about these sentences. There are many more women and men just like my mom who need to be released. Please visit the CAN-DO Foundation movement page to sign more petitions: www.change.org/clemency Thank you again! Gleneisha
