The effort to exonerate our mother, Ethel Rosenberg, has gotten another big boost:
U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA), and U.S. Representative Richard Neal (1st, MA) have both written to the President on behalf of the campaign.
In his letter, Rep. Neal noted in part, "Ethel Rosenberg was not the actor in concert that was portrayed by the U.S. government...In light of this significant body of evidence, I strongly urge you to proclaim the improper treatment of Ethel Rosenberg and her offensive treatment by our government."
Sen. Warren's letter of advocacy followed, and called on Obama to, "provide a swift response" to our family's request.
We're now only about 1,000 signatures away from 50,000 on our petition asking the President to act.
With just over a week left in Obama's term, will you help us reach that milestone by sending an email to your personal contacts, asking them sign the petition? An email you can share is below.
We are profoundly moved by the tremendous support we've received for this campaign.
Thank you,
Robert & Michael Meeropol

Senator Elizabeth Warren and U.S. Representative Richard Neal have just written to the President asking him to respond to this request.
Ethel and her husband Julius were executed during the anti-communist hysteria of the Cold War era. But Ethel was not a spy, and her execution was wrongful. An independent report published last month by Seton Hall School of Law described Ethel as, "The Government's Hostage."
In-depth reporting by 60 Minutes, AP, CNN, CBS News, NPR, The Washington Post, Fox News, Democracy Now! and many other media outlets has shown that Ethel was not a spy and the government knew that but orchestrated her arrest and execution simply as leverage against her husband, Julius. The editorial boards of The Boston Globe and other newspapers have called on the President to act. And nearly 50,000 people - including additional elected officials, artists, and other high profile individuals - have signed the petition asking President Obama to address the injustice of Ethel's execution before he leaves office.
The execution of the Rosenbergs helped fuel a dangerous climate of fear and intolerance in our country which permitted political opportunists like Senator McCarthy to poison our society. Today, we face a similar climate of hatred which targets immigrants, Muslims, LGBTQI individuals and others.
Sign the petition to ask President Obama to address this injustice now:
