President Barack Obama
Dear Mr. President,
We need you to declare World MRSA Day, Oct. 2 by Presidential Proclamation and also have the US Congress appropriate funds for awareness and educational programs to the public on prevention.
More Americans die every year from MRSA than from HIV/AIDS and the epidemic is sweeping the globe. In 2009, The US Senate (introduced by Illinois US Sens. Durbin and Burris and initiated by MRSA Survivors Network) passed senate resolution 301 designating October 2 World MRSA Day and October as World MRSA Awareness Month. We need your Presidential Proclamation to draw more attention to this disease that is at epidemic levels globally.
Thank you for your continued commitment and support for MRSA.
