A recent report by the Zambezi researcher, Dr Kellie Leigh, comprehensively reveals the proposed plunder of the Lower Zambezi National Park by Australia's Zambezi Resources Limited.

However, the true villains, given the absence of the separation of powers of the judiciary and the executive, and the draconian powers of the President of Zambia under a flawed Constitution, is the late President Michael Sata and his A-Team of Guy Scott (current acting President) and the former Minister of Justice, Wynter Kabimba. They it was who instructed the Minister responsible to overturn the rejection of the proposed mining by the Zambia Environmental Management Agency, and by a Parliamentary Committee. In addition, Sata brought the Road Development Agency under his personal coils, starting with the trans Lower Zambezi highway project. The fact that it is now clear that the copper deposits cannot be removed at a profit - apart from the massive destruction the mines would would cause, suggests unfathomable corruption and stupidity. Politically this is the end of the Patriotic Front Party, the elections of 2016 looming. Will Scott make amends. And their are other mines planned along the Zambezi, and many hydro schemes.
