LIU Post Students Deserve to have a Commencement Ceremony

LIU Post Students Deserve to have a Commencement Ceremony

The Issue

On Friday March 13, LIU Post sent out a email to all students that all student organizations were suspended and large scale student run programs were also suspended because of the coronavirus outbreak. On Monday March 23, LIU President Kimberly Cline sent an e-mail announcing that commencement would take place virtually on Wednesday May 20. This now creates a one LIU commencement ceremony with LIU Brooklyn. We deserve some type of commencement ceremony for our blood sweat and tears that we put in our campus service, and in our academics. Please sign this petition to show President Kimberly Cline and the LIU Administration that we have worked for this moment for so long and deserve to have a commencement ceremony in person when the coronavirus pandemic eventually ends.
