Protect rainforests in Indonesia & Malaysia

Protect rainforests in Indonesia & Malaysia
The Issue
The Indonesian rainforest is being cleared to make room for palm oil production. Currently, in Borneo, a small area surrounding some rivers is preserved, called a Riparian Preserve, as it preserves a riparian zone.
This petition is focused on demanding that the Indonesian government expands these Riparian Preserves to 115 meters, but your activism can't simply stop here.
To help, you can also make Ecosia your default browser, and boycott products from Wilmar International and other companies, such as Omar International, which have also exploited these rainforests.
Why is this so important? These are our forests! They are natural - if we lose the forest, it's gone forever. The ecosystem is gone forever. Orangutans, pygmy elephants, and other wildlife in the rainforest will be lost - forever. And the climate change disaster would rage on, having lost the rainforests that absorb tons of carbon dioxide to help control our emissions.
It's time to act now.
We are demanding that the Indonesian government expands Riparian Preserves around rivers in Borneo to 115 meters, which will help us protect these precious habitats further.
There is more to be done. But this is where it begins.
