Allow CUA Class of 2023 to live off-campus if they choose

The Issue

The Catholic University of America has reneged on their promise to CUA students in the class of 2023 by announcing rising Juniors will only be allowed to live on-campus for the 2021-2022 school year unless already living off-campus. Many students in the class of 2023 made the decision to come to CUA under the impression that they would spend two years in on-campus living. This change should come as a surprise considering there have been no new additional residential buildings added to our campus. In fact one building, Walton, was actually removed from CV. However, these announcements come as no surprise to a class here at CUA who's promises have been consistently disregarded by our school in favor of profit. Remember, this is the same school that denied the class of 2023 access to on-campus housing, allowing freshmen instead, forcing many into off-campus housing. They now argue that class of 2023 students, who were expecting to live off-campus in accordance with what they were told by the university, to come back pay their overpriced meal plan and room & board fees. Once again this another decision made by the university without any consideration for the opinions of those this effects.
