Ask President Trump to help stop the Yulin Dog Meat festival in China

Dear President Trump,
We would like to start off by saying that you are one of the few Presidents in history that is keeping the promises they made. You take a pragmatic approach to everything you tackle and you get it done. This is the main reason why we are writing to you. In the past many people have held a petition against this atrocity called a festival, but they reached out to the wrong people for help. The mistake was that they sent the letter and petition to the Chinese government which does nothing to help. I know you are not a huge dog lover but you are a humanitarian and that is good enough. With that said let us explain what the problem is and how you can help.
The Yulin meat festival takes place every June in China. It is not an old tradition that has been going on for decades. It was created in 2009 mainly by the meat traders to build up business. They gather up dogs of all different breeds and hold them in inhumane conditions by stacking them up on top of each other in wooden crates. They take dogs from people's homes as well as stray dogs. They take every dog that they can find and get away with stealing family pets. This has been proven due to the many dogs that still have their collars on them when they are killed.
We understand that different countries eat different animals due to their various cultures. However, the torture that they put these sentient beings through before they kill them is barbaric at the very least. They claim that if you torture the dog before killing it, the meat tastes better. As Lisa is a retired executive chef so we know this is just untrue and nonsensical. They store the dogs in cramped cages on top of each other where they are unable to move. From there they will beat them with sticks or bats and then set them on fire to remove their fur and skin while they are screaming. Others will dip them in boiling water to remove their fur and skin. The animal is very much alive while they go through this process. Before they are killed a hook is placed inside of them so the vendor can weigh them like a Christmas turkey.
Please know the videos that we posted below are very graphic so take caution while watching them. However this is the only way you will be able to see how urgent the situation is.
This petition has been created to implore you to put heavier sanctions on China or some other way that you see fit that will get their attention to stop this horrific event. We know that when you put your mind to something you get it done. Please take some time to look at the content. We are confident that many people will support you even if they did not support you politically. We are the voice of the voiceless and this is the only way we can get people to help these defenseless animals. Our goal is to get at least a million signatures to get your attention as well as others. Many people do not even know that this festival exists. This year's festival will be starting soon and they have already started to collect dogs. We thank you in advance for helping us end this horrible event. You have the ability and power to make a tremendous difference for these animals. Please make it happen. We pray to God that you will.
