Thank you to all who have signed and shared the Save Commencement at CSULB petition! You all are the reason the conversation has started and there is clear indication to campus officials that what they plan on changing to our tradition of CSULB commencements is not okay . Thank you! Still, CSULB Administrators have been not been active in their communication with the campus community and have not sent out to the campus community any official indications of change from what they had planned. There has been clear push back from administrators that they do not plan on changing venue. However, President Conoley does seem to be listening to the fact that we want live music back. This is because of our collective voice! Together we are making progress! Now more than ever we need to make sure the voice of our students, alumni, parents, and community is heard loud and clear that we want a traditional CSULB commencement on the main campus quad, with live music, a traditional CSULB ceremony. We want clear communication to the campus community that these changes will be put in place. A rally and peaceful protest has been organized for Tuesday Feb 20 from 1:45 – 2:45 at the Speaker’s Platform. We will begin at the Speaker’s Platform by the bookstore and march over to Brotman Hall where we will hear testimonies. If you are interested in giving a testimony please email juia@juliajaynes.com . Please also rsvp on the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1554273127955031/?notif_t=plan_user_joined¬if_id=1518499639416719 Looking forward to seeing you at the Save CSULB Commencement Rally Protest, for Tuesday Feb 20 from 1:45 – 2:45 at the Speaker’s Platform (in front of the Bookstore). Together we can make sure CSULB students have the commencement ceremony they deserve. -Julia
