Optional Pass/Fail grading at McDaniel College

Optional Pass/Fail grading at McDaniel College
The Issue
As the second semester for college students nationwide has been moved to online courses or cut short altogether, student's plans and goals have been changed and altered causing seniors to worry if they will graduate this year. According to connectusfund.org found here, pass-fail grading places less stress on students, allows for cohesion and for students to take more academic risks. We also suggest for pass-fail grading to be optional as pass-fail does not impact one's GPA as significantly as a graded class potentially would. Colleges around the nation such as Penn State, Carnegie Mellon, and Columbia have already adapted to these parameters and have been well received along with many other colleges started petitions to do the same.
