Kabul Animal Rescue Needs a Landing Permit for Their Rescue Animals to Safely Leave Kabul!
The Issue
Kabul Small Animal Rescue is a veterinary clinic and animal rescue. They are currently working in Afghanistan to help anyone who wants to evacuate their animals out of the country to do so.
They still need to safely evacuate all their animals and staff by the 31st August deadline when foreign troops will withdraw from Afghanistan and getting their rescue animals out will be impossible. If the staff are still on the ground when that deadline passes, "all bets are off," says Charlotte Maxwell-Jones, the American director and founder of the Kabul Small Animal Rescue It's uncertain what the situation will be after that point or whether anyone would be able to leave the country at all.
They have worked so hard and have helped out other animal rescuers in Afghanistan to bring as many animals to safety as possible. There is an issue with arriving in the US, due to rabies risk, so they may need to land in another country and quarantine. Therefore, they require permits and visas required to travel and land with animals in another country. They are also awaiting a landing permit for their plane to land in Afghanistan to board the animals.
Everyone is aware that the animal rescue charity Nowzad has had support from the UK Government and MoD to board their almost 200 animals onto the cargo hold and travel safely out of Kabul; please afford this wonderful organisation the same grace and support!
The situation is URGENT! Time is running out. Please don't leave these animals to a horrendous fate at the hands of the Taliban, who have no regard for animal life and will torture, abuse, abandon and kill these innocent souls. Animals deserve better! It's not their fault that humans fight wars. Please do the humane thing and help your citizens provide safe passage home with their animals. They are doing the right thing, please can you also do the right thing and show that our nations truly are nations of animal lovers!
