We are forming this petition to reach out to countless individuals in hopes that the Government will flex and exercise their power to get laws changed so that our companion animals are seen as living beings and not objects or "property".  

   Although, we as animal lovers and pet owners see our beloved companion animals as family members and best friends, certain laws state that pets are considered property -- objects and possessions in which we own.  This here is clearly unacceptable, and does not sit well with many individuals.

   With having these laws and views, it is creating certain loopholes that is permitting people to do what they wish to their animals - and although there is laws protecting animal rights/welfare, it is not doing much when it comes to justice for our beloved babies if individuals continue to view living beings as "property"

 That is why we are hoping that something will change immediately so that pets are treated with the same compassion and respect as any living being - and that means to be seen as life and not as possessions or objects in which we own.  We are meant to be guardians and caretakers of these lives NOT owners.
