As a leading institution in Ontario, the University of Guelph has a long history of academic excellence, community engagement, and a commitment to sustainability. 

While we understand the importance of modernizing the university's visual identity, we believe the current logo fails to truly represent the heritage, values, and spirit of our school. We, as students, believe the recent rebrand lacks the visual clarity and professionalism expected from a prestigious university. 

We urge the university administration to revisit the design, taking into account the feedback of the community, and create a logo that better reflects Guelph’s longstanding commitment to excellence while preserving its elegant history.

We ask that the redesign process include full fiscal transparency to ensure responsible spending in the best interests of students, faculty, staff, and alumni. 

The University of Guelph's rebrand will catalyze the loss of longstanding cultures and traditions at the university. If the crest and athletics logo are to be updated, the changes must be done in a manner to preserve the university's story and pride.
