Dear Supporter of Trumper Park Tennis Centre 

The resolution to remove multi-sports use from the tender for Trumper Park tennis centre is item 14.3 on the Agenda for the Woollahra Council meeting next Monday night. 

Please consider sending a concise email to the Council before the meeting on 28 October, supporting the resolution. Your support could really help.  Some newly elected Councillors may not be familiar with the issue and our campaign, and your email will be included in the meeting papers for the Councillors to read. 

I have included some suggestions for points to include in your email at the bottom of this post.

Dear Woollahra Council and Councillors

(Say if you are a local resident and /or if you play tennis at Trumper Park or have children who play there, attend tennis camps etc.)

I am aware that the Council will be considering a resolution to limit the tender for the lease of Trumper Park tennis courts to tennis exclusively, and exclude multi-sport uses.

I support the proposed resolution to keep Trumper Park for tennis only and urge Councillors to vote in favour of it. 

(You can include your own reasons for supporting the resolution these are examples:

-Trumper Park tennis centre is highly valued by the local community and should not be changed. The current management run the centre very well as a tennis venue and in harmony with the nearby residents.

-Noise- the tennis courts are very close to nearby residences-the level of noise that will be generated will be unacceptable if sports such as  pickleball and team sports such as basketball, netball or five a side soccer  are introduced. 

-changes to the court surfaces would be needed to allow multi-sports use , making two courts unsuitable for tennis play. 

-the Trumper Park tennis courts are always heavily booked and there is no spare capacity to introduce other sports-it will just make it harder to book courts for tennis at convenient times.
