"On Friday 29 September, PACFA President Nigel Polak and CEO Johanna de Wever met with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Chair, Natalie Bailey, and CEO, Anna Daroy, face-to-face in Sydney.

Over lunch in the Royal Botanic Gardens, the group enjoyed a three-hour conversation covering a wide range of topics relevant to the counselling and psychotherapy workforces in both countries.

During the conversation, BACP and PACFA were pleased to discuss numerous and varied areas of shared interest, including the Scope of Practice and Education (SCoPEd) framework, which provides significant clarity for counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK." - pacfa.org.au website

Whereas our Chair and (then) CEO did not have time to acknowledge or respond to our recent protest, let alone meet us face to face, they did have time for a jolly down to Sydney, Australia.

It would appear that, only a matter of weeks before termination of Anna Deroy’s one year contract, the governance of BACP felt that a multi-thousand pound trip to Aus would be a wise investment of our hard earned membership fees.

There is no news article nor report sharing the benefits to members of this outing, nor a similar outing to the USA last year.

Meanwhile we struggle to have our arguments even acknowledged.

What has become of the BACP?
