Around the time of the recent resignation of Michael Golding as Deputy Chair of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, various disenchanted members were exploring alternative counselling organisations and many resigned to join other bodies. One society with whom I have been in contact is the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists.
Senior Accredited BACP members that are beginning to lose trust in their association may wish to check out NCIP and I can pass on their current position in regard to BACP Snr Accreds that wish to explore transitioning to another governing body:
“We are aware that SCoPEd is causing concern and hardship to some experienced professionals and decided not to engage with it. We see no reason to even consider a change.
Any accreditation or senior accreditation that an applicant for membership brings with them has always been honoured by NCIP. So, the answer to your first question is yes we will honour status.
I believe, unlike other organisations we have one fee for membership regardless of status. This fee is £154 pa. There is a joining fee of £25 for the first year.
If you would like further information, I would be delighted to discuss this with you. My direct line is 0203 441 8344.
Stay safe and well,
Ray”
