3.18.25 Update

Hello -

We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the overwhelming outpouring of support!  We ask you continue to make a push in sharing this petition with your network ahead of the upcoming Planning Board Meeting on Wednesday 3/19.

A few items to share:

• The project can be denied on grounds of jeopardizing health, safety and wellbeing of people (and horses, which are considered property).  Importantly, the safety of those who own, ride and handle equines at our farm location. This includes current or future residents of the community.  Area's of concern in this regard include:
  
  • provision of emergency services
  • sewerage disposal
  • availability of potable water
  • adequate surface water run-off
  • preservation of natural, historical or cultural features  
• This project is not in line with the Town of East Greenwich's Comprehensive Plan.
• This project can be denied if detrimental to local history, culture and impact to nature.
  • This includes pileated woodpecker, a protected species 
  • Various organizations and area families have offered evidence of indigenous peoples heritage and culture on the land slated for development
• Due to business impact already being realized, FHF Foundation has had to place some therapy horses, impacting the Foundation's ability to serve RI's most vulnerable populations in the same way. 

In the meantime, here are some action items you can take to support your FHF community! 

1.  Contact the members of the EG Planning Board and express your concerns about the impact of Ridgeline Estates on our farm community. arinaldi@eastgreenwichri.com 401-886-8643
2. Attend the 3/19 Planning Board meeting @ 7PM to show support for FHF. Although public comment has closed, attendance makes a difference! 111 Pierce Street, East Greenwich, RI 02818
