Despite the recent developments where the courts at Kendale Woods Park have been painted for tennis only, our fight is far from over. The Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) and Ms. Jai Cole must be held accountable for not adhering to their own established guidelines regarding the placement of pickleball courts within 250 feet of a residence.
We understand that Ms. Cole might hope to return from her 'vacation' and leave this issue behind her, but it’s not going to be that easy. From the start, we’ve asked a simple question: why do the established guidelines not apply to Kendale Woods Park? Until we receive a satisfactory answer, our fight will continue.
As we approach the 4th of July, we look forward to our tradition at the Broyhill Crest Pool, where the Mason District Supervisor traditionally attends the celebration. We hope Mr. Jimenez will continue this tradition, as many community members are eager to ask him a pressing question: where have you been throughout this whole process? This was your opportunity to stand up for your constituents, yet the responses we received from you were canned and showed no understanding of the nuances of this situation. I think this is a prime example of why voting for the best candidate and not strictly on party lines is essential to functioning government- and that's a hard pill to swallow because I've always, always, voted Democrat and thought of not doing so makes me a little queasy!
We have yet to hear any answers to relatively simple questions, and until we do, our quest for answers will persist. Here is the latest media clip from USA9. It's been telling how the media has supported our community far more than any of our elected officials.
Thank you for your continued support.
