Petition updatePreserve the Pickleball Courts at Kendale Woods ParkLatest from Annandale Today: The Community is Ready for the Drama to End – Open the Courts

We wanted to provide another update on our ongoing efforts to reopen the pickleball courts at Kendale Woods Park. Despite our best efforts and the clear support from our community, the courts remain locked.

We recognize that Ms. Cole is in a challenging position. Reversing a decision can be difficult and complex, especially when made with the best intentions. Many of us can relate to finding ourselves in tough situations due to incomplete information and then facing the challenge of reassessing our choices, I know I can.  It’s not easy to revisit a decision, and we understand the difficult spot she is in. However, with the courts being next to the community pool, they are a constant reminder to our residents of this situation where we haven't felt understood, heard, or valued.

This situation has been confusing from the start. It's unclear why such a pressing issue has arisen over the use of these courts. Even more baffling is why Chairman McKay, who has publicly disagreed with Ms. Cole's decision, cannot or will not step in to resolve the matter.

The outside influence from those living in different states and parts of the country in this situation has been disturbing, but the unity and resilience of our local community have been truly inspiring. We've come together loud and clear, stating that tennis players, pickleball players, and those who don't play either should be able to continue to use these courts as we've done for many years without issues.

Let’s hope we get the resolution we all want: open courts for all to enjoy.

Thank you for your continued support.
