Preserve the Memorial Bricks at Camp Randall

The Issue

This is a personal story. My father, a former player for the Badgers in both football and baseball, has a brick memorialized at Camp Randall. But these tokens aren't just about my father; there are hundreds more, each signifying someone's personal connection and contribution to the amazing legacy of the Badgers. Recently, we learned that these cherished bricks are in danger of being removed or not repositioned due to the construction of the new football practice facility. This is more than inconsiderate; it's an affront to the deep ties many individuals and families have to the university and its sports program.

Every one of those bricks represents a moment in the history of the Badgers, a cherished memory, or a person who once played upon those hallowed fields. The bricks are part of the aesthetic and fabric of Camp Randall, a feature loved by the 80,321 people it seats every game and by many more who visit.

The relocation of these bricks within the new Badger football practice facility would maintain the profound connection between past, present, and future players, coaches, and fans alike. This act would not only preserve our shared legacy but also demonstrate respect towards the emotional attachment and significance these bricks hold for many families, mine included.

Help us preserve these monuments of personal commitment and team spirit. Do not let our history be paved over. Please, sign this petition to keep the memorial bricks at Camp Randall and relocate them within the new Badger football practice facility.
