The Issue

As a resident of Middlesbrough, I am deeply concerned about the proposed plans to build a Traveller's site on land at Teessaurus Park. This park is not just a piece of land; it is home to our beloved dinosaur sculptures that attract hundreds of families all year round. These dinosaurs are loved by everyone who visits them, and they form an integral part of our local community.

The town's Local Plan states that 14 pitches are needed to meet the needs of Gypsies or Travellers. While we understand and respect these needs, we believe there must be alternative solutions that do not involve disrupting the natural habitat at Teessaurus Park or relocating our cherished dinosaur sculptures.

Teessaurus Park also serves as an important wildlife site with public access to the river Tees. The proposed development could potentially disrupt this delicate ecosystem and limit public access to these valuable resources.

We urge Middlesbrough Council to reconsider their plans for this development. We propose that they explore other suitable locations for the Traveller's site while ensuring continued public access to Teessaurus Park, its wildlife, river views, and most importantly - our dinosaurs!

Please join us in preserving this treasured local landmark for future generations by signing this petition today!
