New school year

As Victorian students settle into a new school  year our local City of Greater Dandenong schools are feeling the pressure of new enrolments. Schools work on the model that their foundation level intake needs to equal their exiting grade 6 students each year. In the case of Athol Road PS just up the road from the old Southvale PS  site the pressure is on. Internal shuffling has occurred to find more teaching spaces and this year student enrolment is already over 400 students ( higher than the Good schools figures I posted.)  If new families move into the area  unannounced - and this does happen-  where will these students be enrolled?
