Preserve Outdoor Service & Live Music at Bar Fly

Preserve Outdoor Service & Live Music at Bar Fly
The Issue
Bar Fly’s outside bar is more than just a place to grab a drink — it's where I met my boyfriend, and friends who turned into family. It's a venue where memories are made, children can play, pets can relax with their owners, where live local music thrives, and where people from all walks of life come together. The outdoor patio at Bar Fly in Safety Harbor is a hub of community spirit, fostering connections among locals, families, visitors, and even pets, making everyone feel a part of something special.
Unfortunately, recent restrictions have threatened the very essence of what makes Bar Fly a beloved gathering spot in our community. These regulations impair outdoor service and limit the live music performances that have been at the heart of our community's social fabric. It directly affects servers and bartenders and their income. These changes not only affect the patrons but also the local musicians and employees whose livelihoods are closely tied to the vibrancy of Bar Fly.
We are asking the local government to reconsider these restrictions and find a fair resolution that ensures Bar Fly can continue offering outdoor service and live music. There are numerous solutions that can address concerns while allowing the venue to maintain its role as a community cornerstone. Potential adjustments could include revised noise ordinances, designated music hours, or improved community engagement protocols to better align the venue’s operations with neighborhood expectations.
Cities thrive when they have spaces where communities can come together, where music, conversation, and shared experiences enrich our lives. Bar Fly has consistently been that place for many, and its contribution to the cultural and social fabric of Safety Harbor should not go unrecognized.
It’s not all about music. Above everything, the outdoor patio at Barfly has always been a place where people can simply dine together — with friends, family, children, and even their pets. It’s about enjoying fresh air, good conversation, and the community spirit that makes Safety Harbor so special. Losing that space would mean losing a piece of what truly brings people together in our town.
Support Bar Fly in its mission to keep the outdoor area alive and vibrant with music and community events. Sign this petition to show your support and ensure that future generations can continue to make memories in this special place.
