Today. WTVA in Tupelo, MS has officially announced that Allen Media Group has reversed their plans to eliminate local weather coverage, lay off the weather team, and utilize a hub based reporting system in association with the Weather Channel, also owned by Allen Media Group.

It is with deepest appreciation I thank you all for doing your part in raising your voices. This could only have happened with your support, the support of the weather reporting community and local public figures and complaints to the FCC.

We thank Allen media group for listening and doing the right thing for North Mississippi. 

But there is still work to be done. Not all markets have reported the same reversal. 

For those of us in North Mississippi, you should know about 20% of petition signers were from other television markets across the country. We should show them the same support they showed us. Get on your socials and look up the other stations affected. And shout it out that we want to #keepweatherlocal!
