At the March 12 Town Hall with Mayor Donna Deegan, Bret Nolan, Vice President of the Mandarin Community Club, delivered what may be the most important statement yet on the Mandarin Road project.

From  the link attached you can fast forward to the 26:13  minute section to 34:31, he made it unmistakably clear:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7APt7bMf5I

➡️ The Mandarin Community Club OPPOSES this sidewalk expansion

➡️ Mandarin Road is a protected historic and scenic corridor — not a development zone

➡️ The community has already spoken, and the opposition is strong

➡️ Moving forward anyway shows a process that is ignoring the very people it impacts

This isn’t coming from “a few voices.”

This is coming from the organization whose mission is to preserve Mandarin itself.

And let’s be clear:

Mandarin is NOT one ZIP code.

It is a community — and 64% of this petition’s signatures are LOCAL across Mandarin-area ZIP codes.

So when anyone tries to minimize this movement by slicing it into one ZIP code, they are missing — or ignoring — the truth.

👉 You cannot replace a historic canopy once it’s gone

👉 You cannot recreate a natural corridor once it’s destroyed

👉 And you cannot claim “community support” when the community has clearly said

NO

We are now over 3,100+ signatures and growing fast.

🚀 Let’s push this to 5,000 and beyond

Stand with Mandarin.

Stand with preservation.
