We are proud to share that the Mandarin Community Club — a cornerstone of our neighborhood since 1923 — has officially adopted a resolution opposing the JTA’s proposed Mandarin Road Sidewalk Plan in its entirety.
In a unanimous vote on June 9, 2025, the Club’s Board of Directors affirmed their commitment to protecting the Patriarch Oaks, historic charm, and natural beauty of Mandarin Road. The resolution calls for termination of the sidewalk extension beyond Red Cypress Drive, citing:
Potential damage to protected historic trees
Loss of scenic and cultural character
Lack of demonstrated pedestrian safety benefits
Violation of Ordinance 2001-1009-E, which designates this corridor as Scenic and Historic
