Update: Mandarin Road Is Not a Pedestrian Road — It’s a Living Landmark
Thank you to the 775+ and growing who have signed this petition to protect Mandarin Road. Expectations are high that this petition will soon reach into the thousands as more people learn what is at risk.
Let’s be clear: Mandarin Road was never designed or intended as a pedestrian throughway. This is a historic, scenic corridor, cherished not as a place to walk to get somewhere, but as a place to experience and preserve for its beauty, heritage, and natural character.
Those of us who live here, who have invested in this community, did so because of what this road represents — a peaceful, rural, tree-lined escape from overdevelopment, not a pedestrian corridor carved into concrete.
We don’t need to pave it to appreciate it.
We don’t need to alter it to love it.
We don’t need to destroy it to enjoy it.
This road is already a destination in itself — people drive, bike, and yes, occasionally walk or ride through it — to experience its unique character, not to turn it into a city sidewalk project that threatens to change everything.
Thank you again for your support. Please keep sharing this petition so that every voice in Mandarin is heard loud and clear.
