Hello Everyone!
I have a few updates to share with you today.
First off, we had a meeting with our attorney, David Coale, yesterday. He is drafting a representation letter for us now that we expect to receive next week. We plan to finalize the agreement over the next 2 weeks so he can begin his work on the injunction. Together with David Coale, we feel very CONFIDENT that this will be a highly successful effort.
Based on advice from Mr. Coale, we are establishing a nonprofit organization to serve as the plaintiff in our case. No individuals will be liable during the legal effort. Once we have this set up, all current funds and future donations will be directed to the nonprofit.
Another positive move is what happened at the Cedar Hill city council meeting on Tuesday. There was a resolution presented to have the option to DISSOLVE the PID (public improvement district - federal funding responsible for funding the infrastructure of the project).
This is an unusual move and means that WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE already! This resolution gives Meritage (the developer) an option to abandon the project at any time. We feel that this is a direct result of our efforts in opposition, and we haven't even filed the paperwork yet! They are worried!!
If you have been wondering if we could make a difference...this is PROOF POSITIVE. It strengthens our resolve to stay in this fight.
Will you donate at least $100 TODAY to help us make a difference for our beloved Lake Ridge community? GoFundMe

We will be having another community meeting on September 5. Details will be forthcoming, so mark your calendars and plan to be there!
As always, THANK YOU for your continued support. We are working hard to make this happen for Lake Ridge. Together, we can make the difference.
