We are steadily making progress in our effort to STOP the Balcones Ranch development from taking its next steps!
We have the representation letter from our attorney, David Coale. He has generously agreed to start working on our behalf for a retainer of $15,000. Our apologies to you in getting the letter as he was traveling internationally and just returned this week.
OUR DONATIONS STAND AT $14,000.
WE NEED MORE TO MEET THE RETAINER. DONATE NOW!
A nonprofit organization has been filed with the state and approved. We are officially Preserve Lake Ridge. Paperwork is now being filed with the IRS to secure tax exemption status. This means that donations will be a tax deduction for all donors.
As soon as we have that status, we will let you know! This comes at a price, as the filing fee with the IRS is $600. We have incurred other costs with filing fees. All of this has to come from our donation pool, which we need primarily for the legal effort.

We will be working on setting up an informational website at preservelakeridge.org. It is not active yet, but it will be shortly. We will convey our mission and educate the community through the website as well as drive our fundraising efforts.
We now have a full list of contacts for all residents/property owners in Lake Ridge. This will help with our efforts to go door to door and send out information regarding mailings directly to everyone who is affected by the the poor decisions of the city.
MAILINGS WILL NEED TO BE FUNDED. WE ESTIMATE THAT WE'LL NEED $2000 TO SEND OUT INFORMATION TO EVERYONE IN LAKE RIDGE. DONATE NOW!
WE ARE HAVING A COMMUNITY MEETING ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19!
Please make plans to attend. The meeting will be held at Tangle Ridge Golf Course. We are breaking the meeting into TWO PARTS:
5:15-6:00 EDUCATIONAL: If you are new to our cause and would like an in depth look at the Balcones development and why we stand against it, please make plans to attend.
6:15-7:30 MAIN MEETING: If you are familiar with our effort and want to get the latest update, please attend this portion of the meeting. We will be discussing our strategy going forward and HOW YOU CAN HELP.
As you can see, we have expenses as well as the need to finish out the small amount we still need for the retainer for our attorney.
