Hello, Everyone!
We are nearing 800 signatures for the petition! We are just 4 away from hitting that milestone. I am so proud of our community for this! We have gathered 15 signatures for the additional zoning protest from people living within 200 feet of the proposed development. That's a big victory for us!
Tonight is the BIG NIGHT. The meeting begins at 7pm. I have been told that the room is not large and may only hold 75 people or so. You may want to consider getting there early so that you can get a seat or at least a spot to stand.
Because this is a PUBLIC HEARING, anyone can speak. I expect that they will have a signup sheet to keep the proceedings organized, but there is no additional form to be filled out beforehand. We get 3 minutes to speak. It might be a good idea to gather your thoughts into a well worded statement and be sure you are within the time limit.
If you cannot attend, but you would like to leave a public comment for the council, you MUST submit it before the meeting begins this evening. Please use the link to type your statement. It will be shared with the council and entered into the record. If you have already written to the council via email or a letter, your additional statement will not count additionally, but personally I don't think they can hear our opposition enough.
