Good Afternoon, Everyone!
Our signatures have reached 740 now! I am pleased that we have had such good response. There are still so many in our community who do not know about the proposed development. It is hard to believe, as I personally have been knee deep in this thing for almost 3 weeks! Continue to spread the word!!
Just a quick update as to where we stand. One of the residents in The Timbers community collected the necessary signatures for the zoning protest for those living within 200 feet of the development and has delivered that to the city today, along with a letter stating the reasons for the protest. This should push them to a 6-1 vote in order to pass this proposal. That's one vote BETTER than a supermajority!
REMEMBER that the meeting is TOMORROW at 7pm. Because this is a public hearing, you are welcome to come to the podium to speak. There are no forms to fill out in order to be able to participate.
If you would prefer to send a statement to the council before the meeting, please send your comments to the following: City Email This will be considered public comment and will be entered into the record.
We've come so far together! Let's see this thing through. COME TO THIS MEETING. Your presence helps those of us who have been fighting for the community and sends a strong message to the council that we are standing united.
In addition, here is the latest email sent to council. This one details the statements made by council member McCurdy and how we are responding.
Thank you!
