My personal journey and that of my partner have been profoundly improved and transformed by Kratom, a natural plant native to Southeast Asia. Allowing us to maintain better quality of life, we can also testify to its life-saving capabilities.

Kratom is controversial; many misconceive it merely as another source of substance misuse. However, for thousands of people like my partner and me, it's far from that. It's a lifeline. It has been widely used as a traditional medicine, known to help manage pain, mental and physical discomfort, opiate and prescription medication withdrawal and other health issues when used responsibly.

Despite the World Health Organization's lack of recommendations to internationally control Kratom (Journal of Psychoactive Drugs, 2020), various states and countries insist on taking away our lifeline, our ability to cope and lead lives decorated with quality, comfort, and stability. Locking horns with science, they are consciously tipping the scales against the wellness and betterment of countless individuals worldwide.

We must nurse our collective voice into a thunderous roar, standing firm against the marginalization of Kratom and the many lives it positively affects. It's essential to push for the understanding that Kratom isn't a menace but a tool for better living when used responsibly.
