As citizens of the City of Lompoc, we understand the indispensable role that the Lompoc Chamber of Commerce plays in fostering economic growth, supporting local businesses, and organizing community events that distinctly benefit all residents. The Chamber acts as a crucial community partner by promoting events that enhance community spirit and encourage local spending. It also provides vital support to our local businesses, empowering them to thrive and continue providing employment opportunities, essential services, and products that our community relies on.

The Lompoc Chamber of Commerce is not just an organization; it's the backbone of our local economy and communal identity. Its tireless efforts in hosting events, such as farmer's markets, business expos, and holiday celebrations, contribute significantly to our community's vibrancy and economic health. These activities foster a sense of belonging and pride among residents, making Lompoc a vibrant and attractive place to live and work.

However, despite its vital contributions, funding for the Chamber has been jeopardized. We urge the Lompoc City Council to recognize the importance of this institution by allocating adequate budget assistance to ensure the Chamber's operations can continue unfettered.

It is unacceptable to the citizens undersigned and the community at large that the Chamber be forced to discontinue it's important and benevolent efforts.

As engaged citizens, we believe the Chamber has a responsibility to the community that supports it to provide transparency regarding how funds are allocated, how they are currently being used, and why it has been unable to establish a measure of financial self-sufficiency.  We are hopeful that during the City's budget consideration, that information can be considered publicly.
 

We call upon our elected representatives to prioritize some funding of the Lompoc Chamber of Commerce in the upcoming budget. This support is essential to sustaining the economic and community well-being that the Chamber has tirelessly worked to cultivate.
