Call to Action: Preserve Bulow Creek and Protect Flagler County's Future!

Brought to you by:   Preserve Flagler Beach and Bulow Creek, Inc. is a 501(c)(4) organization.

We are calling on all Flagler County residents to take a stand in saving Bulow Creek and holding SUNBELT/Veranda Bay Developers, and the City/County accountable to existing laws regarding enclaves. Just because laws have been overlooked in the past does not make it acceptable now. We demand that Veranda Bay adhere to the 453 residential units (plus commercial space) originally approved for this and no more than that; as well as stop forced annexation and annexation for purpose of side stepping a ruling already enforced.

Flagler County has experienced rapid, intense growth, and it’s time to prioritize preservation before there’s nothing left to preserve. Our organization, Preserve Flagler Beach and Bulow Creek Inc. is expanding its mission to encompass the entire county. Preserve Flagler Beach and Bulow Creek Inc. is about uniting our community to protect the natural beauty and charm that define us.

Why This Matters

Flagler County’s unique appeal lies in its Old Florida charm and natural ecosystems. Unchecked, dense development threatens to erase what draws people here in the first place. This is not about stopping growth but about advocating for smart growth—development that balances the needs of our communities with environmental preservation.

We need only look at recent examples like Plantation Oaks, Eagle Landing, Palm Coast West, drastic new builds in Seminole Woods, and Roberts Road...Like Veranda Bay breaking ground on John Anderson, and the new Reserve development west of Bunnell, these projects, while boosting growth, both will drastically alter the landscape, decimate wildlife habitats, and put undue strain on infrastructure. Without action, Flagler County risks following the paths of overdeveloped areas like Nocatee, Orlando, and South Florida. Develpoment is coming in hot from every corner of this county, all at once.

Our Immediate Goals
Prevent Overdevelopment: Urge the City and County to enforce existing laws and limit Veranda Bay to its originally approved 453 units and limited commercial space.
Conserve Bulow Creek: Advocate for the purchase of land East of Bulow Creek (West side of John Anderson) by Florida Land Acquisition and Flagler County. There are millions of dollars already available to us, we need signatures, so they know HOW we want to use these funds available. Residents can rest easy from any further taxes.
Protect Sensitive Ecosystems: Ensure that areas like the wetlands surrounding Bulow Creek remain untouched and preserved for future generations.
Demand Accountability: Call on SUNBELT to allow the sale of their acquired land WEST on John Anderson abutting East side of Bulow Creek sensitive lands for conservation OR to be HELD TO WHAT THEY PURCHASED ORIGINALLY and being held to provide the infrastructure changes we will desperately need, that they have skirted providing to date.

Demand Accountability: For our city and county commissioners to uphold the law and to protect the people who hired them to represent them as a whole.

This effort isn’t just about preserving nature; it’s about safeguarding the lifestyle and values of our county. Anyone who drives SR 100, visits the beach, enjoys outdoor recreation, or lives south of Palm Coast Parkway has a stake in this.

Why Act Now?
Opportunities like this will not come again. Once the land is developed, it’s gone forever. By protecting this land today, we leave a legacy of natural beauty, clean water, and vibrant wildlife for future generations.
