Preserve Dry Creek Community Park: Stop Further Development

The Issue

As a resident living just one block away from the beautiful Dry Creek Community Park, I have spent the past eleven years cherishing my walks within its natural, wild confines. The serenity of this beautiful mini ecosystem and the joy of encountering over 40 species of birds, prairie dogs, hawks, and the occasional fox, has been an integral part of mine and my neighbors' lives. After COVID lockdown we all realized how vital this piece of nature is to maintaining our mental health.

We firmly believe that any further development will threaten the natural integrity and beauty of this beloved park. Dry Creek Community Park, cherished by the people of Longmont, boasts a higher variety of species than many other local parks, demonstrating its important role as a sanctuary for local wildlife. Conserving this park not only ensures a safe home for these animals but also safeguards a peaceful oasis for the community, contributing to our quality of life.

The call is clear: Longmont needs to take steps to prevent the further development of Dry Creek Community Park. We, as a community, insist on preserving the park and ensuring its natural diversity remains intact for future generations. No more astro turf fields, no more paved lots, no more giant lights obscuring our starry nights. Please, stand with us to keep Dry Creek Community Park wild and free. Sign this petition today!
