Preserve and Protect Michigan's Natural Trails and Wildlife Habitats

The Issue

I am John C. Hauk, a resident of Taylor, Michigan, deeply concerned about the state of our natural trails stretching from Troy to Otter Lake. Our rivers, streams, and animal refuge areas are increasingly littered with trash and debris that threaten the health of our precious ecosystem. This is not just an environmental issue; it is a community issue that affects us all.

Michigan's natural beauty is renowned across the country; however, it faces significant threats due to neglect and pollution. According to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), littering in public spaces has increased over recent years. This not only mars the aesthetic appeal but also poses severe risks to local wildlife.

Furthermore, planting seedlings in these areas can help maintain our ecosystem by providing habitats for various species while also combating climate change through carbon sequestration - a process where trees absorb CO2 from the atmosphere (EPA). However, without proper maintenance and protection efforts in place for these green spaces, we risk losing them forever.

We need your support now more than ever! By signing this petition you are calling on local authorities to increase efforts in maintaining trails across Troy to Otter Lake Michigan as well as our rivers and streams. Let's ensure trash removal becomes regular practice while encouraging reforestation initiatives within these areas.

Help us protect what makes Michigan special - its nature! Sign this petition today!
