We, the residents of Westlake in Madison, Mississippi, are respectfully requesting the preservation of the existing natural tree buffer located behind our homes in relation to the proposed Thornberry Future Development.

This wooded area plays a critical role in maintaining the character, privacy, and overall livability of our neighborhood. For many homeowners, the presence of this natural tree line was a significant factor in choosing to purchase and build homes in Westlake. It provides a visual and physical buffer between existing residences and future development, helping preserve the peaceful, private residential environment we currently enjoy.

The potential removal of these trees raises serious concerns for Westlake residents, particularly regarding loss of privacy and the long-term impact on property values. Homes that were originally positioned with wooded views and natural separation from future development would instead face direct exposure to new construction, altering the residential feel of the community.

We are not opposed to growth or responsible development. However, we strongly believe that development should be carried out in a way that respects existing neighborhoods and preserves the value and integrity of homes already established in the area.
