High tension power lines in view sensitive areas of Copper Basin Rd which serves as the entrance to the Prescott National Forest detract from the City's and neighborhood's scenic value.

The City of Prescott has an obligation to operate it's utility, APS, in a manner that benefits the community while being sensitive to the impact of the neighborhood environment.

High tension power lines are major infrastructure assets used by APS for the benefit of all Prescott residents. As such, we believe the cost of under-grounding the high tension power lines in view sensitive areas would be born by APS and passed along to rate payers.  We believe it makes no sense to continue to pour future maintenance costs into view obstructing high tension lines along the stretch of Copper Basin Rd from Thunderbird to Sheriffs Posse. Future maintenance savings, along with any current planned expenditures should be directed towards the under-grounding of high tension power lines.

We support the exploration of APS to underground the local power lines along Copper Basin Rd from Thunderbird to Sheriffs Posse.
