Costs of car parking throughout Australia are hurting patients and their families, preventing many people from keeping their appointments or visiting loved ones.

In March 2017, a 14 year old's petition about the cost of car parking at NSW hospitals moved NSW Premier, Ms Gladys Berejiklian and Health Minister Mr Brad Hazzard to make hospital car parking fees fair and consistent and parking concessions more available to patients and their families in NSW.  

The Chronic Illness Alliance calls on the Victorian Premier and Minister for Health to follow NSW's lead. 

We call for greater concessions at all Victorian hospitals, public or private; that they be consistent across the sector and be easier to apply for. Concessions should be available to patients and their carers regardless of income because healthcare costs and loss of work and subsequent income affect everybody.
