This cause is important because breed-specific legislation is harmful. These dogs are property of humans and the onus lies on the HUMAN to raise a stable and gentle animal responsibly, with the safety of the general public in mind. The irresponsibility of owners does not justify an attack on genetics and unstable dogs should be dealt with justly, regardless of breed. Much scientific evidence supports that nearly ANY breed of dog can become unstable or dangerous when exposed to irresponsible upbringing by careless human owners who are looking for a weapon, not a pet. There are the people who should be brought to justice. It is UNFAIR to stigmatize the breed and those who put effort into raising healthy, safe pets and should be free to do so without fear of legal ramifications.
