Registered Practical Nurses hold a license the same as RNs with the same legal responsibilities and obligations. We are an affordable and professional health care provider. 
Unfortunately our wages do not reflect our abilities or skills. 
with the recent pay increase to unregulated PSWs the pay gap between RPNs and PSWs is a matter of a few dollars. 
the pay gap between RPNs and RNs is almost 18$/hr.  This is the largest pay gap in Canada between RPNs and RNs in other provinces. 
We feel under utilized, undervalued and overlooked. Many of us feel without a substantial change in pay, it is not in our best interest to take on the challenge of nursing any longer. 
Wage parity needs to be addressed before the health care system takes the enormous loss of more nurses.
