Petition for Bryan Semore's Murderer to Stay in Prison for Life!

The Issue

We as a family, friends, and a community are asking that you don't ever let SIORDIA, FREDDY CORTES CDCR# F70018 out  of prison.

Siordia is charged with premeditated murder and attempted murder with the use of a knife, plus an enhancement alleging the stabbings were in furtherance of a criminal street gang.

Siordia's 18-year-old brother at the time of trail, Marcelino, was currently serving a three-year prison term after pleading guilty to accessory and gang-fighting charges in the same case.

The slain man, Bryan David Semore, 18, was a football player at Oroville High School. He had served as homecoming king just a few months before his death.

In her opening statement to the jury, deputy district attorney Tamara Mosbarger said an autopsy revealed Semore died from seven separate stab wounds, two of which penetrated his heart.

A second victim, William Caffey, then 21, of Oroville, survived several stab wounds to the chest and face, the prosecutor said.

An instructor at Butte College, John Campbell, 36, told the jury he was visiting a friend who worked at the Union 76 gas station on East Eighth Street in Chico at around 2 a.m. on Oct. 2, 2005, when two vehicles — a black pickup and a small blue Honda sedan — pulled in almost simultaneously.

The witness said he heard a commotion and looked outside the store's front door to see occupants of both vehicles confronting each other in the store parking lot.

Campbell identified the teenage defendant as the person he saw stab one young man several times near the front of the store, before attacking a second man on the ground near the open door of the victim's pickup.

The mortally wounded victim gasped for air as Campbell said he held his head off the ground before paramedics and police arrived.

Describing the scene as "a crazy melee," Campbell said the five young men in Siordia's group outnumbered the three people riding in the pickup and clearly were the aggressors that night.

Let us remind you of the story that our local newspaper had printed up. Bryan was a wonderful young man who loved life. He had just graduated high school, he played football, got a job as a electrician, his first place to live, his first truck to drive. He was friend to everyone he met. A pure gentlemen.  We will never get to see Bryan again, unless we go to visit his grave. We have no grandchildren to share his stories too. It's pretty pitiful that we had to suffer the loss of him, sit through court listening to those god awful details describing how he died and watching his murderer laughing while describing how "it felt like a thousand times" on stabbing him. Now we find out he is elig for parole? How can this be?? Here is his charges, let us remind you,
