DRAGON SUSHI

It is indeed regrettable and sad that Dragon Sushi have been given notice to vacate and terminate our current business at Shop 712 Prahran Market by 5 August 2025. The reason for the non-renewal of our lease, is due to our inability to afford the exorbitant new fit out requirements, which have been imposed on us by management (using their designers and builders - not our own) despite our response that the store is in a great condition and doesn’t require the tens of thousands of dollars spent on a new fit out to meet their arbitrary and unrealistic new standards. We have tried to find a compromise and have presented our own designer and builder which would still cost us up to $40,000, which the management have rejected. 

Dragon Sushi is a small family owned business by me and my husband, and has been at the same venue since November 2014. We have had many happy customers since our opening and count many, if not all, as regulars and part of the Dragon Sushi Family. Our Sushi is fresh and made on site daily and has been a staple to many customers visiting Prahran Market on market days, since 2014.

Since the issuance of Expiry and Termination Notices by the Prahran Market Management, Dragon Sushi has submitted numerous appeals and requests for re-consideration and extension of stay in Prahran Market to Prahran Market Management, often with the written supports from our regular customers. All these appeals and requests were rescinded by Prahran Market Management.

Dragon Sushi would like to continue to serve the Community and Patrons with their delicious Sushi for many more years to come, if given the opportunity to remain and operate at their current location at Prahran Market. 

We sincerely hope that our brief but heartfelt note above would encourage community feedback and support to have Dragon Sushi remain and continue regular business at current location at Shop 712 Prahran Market.
