Hello again! This past Sunday, Tyson took out full-page ads in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that “responded” to the criticisms we and other advocates have been raising. This shows our actions are working—and Tyson is panicking. Let’s continue to show our collective strength by taking to their social media pages to let them know we won’t stop until every worker has adequate protections and paid sick leave.
Action 1: Leave a comment on Tyson’s recent Facebook video letting them know that workers are unsatisfied with Tyson’s actions. Use the following example as inspiration for your own comment.
Example: @TysonFoods should be ashamed. They claim to be doing all they can for employees, yet there are workers across the country who are still not being offered paid sick leave or hazard pay for working in such dangerous conditions! This means that many have to choose between going into work and risk getting sick or potentially miss out on a paycheck to provide for their families. This is unacceptable—and continues to prove that #TysonDoesntCare. https://www.change.org/p/poultry-companies-give-workers-essential-benefits-and-safe-conditions-during-covid19
Action 2: Reply to this tweet and call Tyson out for misleading the public about their actions.
Example: @TysonFoods claims to care about America’s families. If that was the truth, though, then why are they continuing to let workers fall ill on the job by refusing to offer everyone paid sick leave and appropriate protections? #TysonDoesntCare https://www.change.org/p/poultry-companies-give-workers-essential-benefits-and-safe-conditions-during-covid19
Action 3: We can’t do this without your support, so please keep on sharing this petition with your network! The more signatures we can gather, the more likely Tyson is to pay attention to our demands.
Thank you for your commitment to ensure these employees receive the basic human rights that they all deserve.
