Postpone JEE Mains 2022 till Board Exams End

Postpone JEE Mains 2022 till Board Exams End
The Issue
This petition is on behalf of all JEE Aspirants who are extremely grieved by the last-minute reduction in no: of attempts for JEE Main 2022 and also regarding the hectic scheduling of the 2 sessions right in between most of the major Board Exams. We've expressed our concerns in the following points:
- As the Education Minister had stated last year that 'from' 2021, there will be 4 attempts at JEE Mains in a year and as it was never mentioned anywhere in the information bulletin of JEE Main 2021 that 4 attempts was just a one-time measure, all of us had planned our preparation in accordance with 4 attempts and the last minute reduction in the no: of attempts from 4 to 2 has caused a great deal of anxiety and panic among us. A lot of us have been forced to consider taking a drop due to this.
- The hectic scheduling of the 2 sessions of JEE Mains right in between most of the board exams makes it very difficult for us to perform upto our best as both are crucial examinations. The pattern and methodology of preparation of both the exams are different and we have to prepare entire 11th and 12th class syllabus for JEE. Also, there are additional subjects we have to prepare for Board Exams apart from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. As per the current schedule, most of us will only get 1 attempt as the other one would either be overlapping with the Board Exam dates or being in proximity with it.
- From 2019, since NTA had started conducting JEE Main exam, there was always a gap of atleast 84-86 days between the first and last session of JEE Mains each year. This year, the gap between the first and last session has been reduced to just 19 days, which leaves little scope/time for us to make improvement in our rank/percentile if our first attempt doesn't go well.
- There are several students among us who had taken a drop this year expecting 4 attempts at JEE Mains and the reduction in no: of attempts just a month before the exam without giving any prior notification/warning has disrupted their preparation immensely. They are worried that their future/career will be ruined and that they might've wasted a year.
Taking the above points into consideration, we humbly request the authorities to kindly allow 4 attempts at JEE Mains 2022 or if 4 attempts is not feasible this year, then conduct 2 attempts after all the major board exams are concluded with atleast 30-35 days gap between the 2 sessions so that all students from every board are given 2 fair platforms/opportunities to get their most deserving rank/percentile in the examination. Please consider our prayer.
