Following an invitation from Cllr David Williams, David and other campaigners met with a representative of the Regional Post Office Executive (from Post Office Limited) in Oxford yesterday. Initially, to hand over the petition (which now tops 1,200 signatures online and offline) followed by a face-to-face meeting to discuss re-opening both Donnington and Cowley Road Post Offices. After the meeting, David Williams said that "At first I was very pessimistic that we would lose these local post offices permanently, But the meeting suggested that there is hope and I am now a lot more optimistic. They were very impressed by the petition, so I would like to thank all residents who signed. I have arranged a follow-up meeting to make sure they follow through with their promises."
